Captain Musa Shuaibu Nuhu DGCA/CEO

Capt. Musa Shuaibu Nuhu is Director General and Chief Executive Officer (DG/CEO, NCAA) and a Veteran, technocrat and aviation safety management specialist. Born on the 28^th April 1964 in Kano, Nigeria.

He had his Aviation Safety Certificate at the University of Southern California in Aviation Safety Managers Training in the year 2001. From 2004 to 2006, he went to Concordia University to obtained his International Aviation Master of Business Administration Degree (IAMBA).

Capt. Musa was a product of defunct Nigeria Airways Limited between 1984 to 1990 as First Officer on B737.

From 1990 to 2006, he joined Presidential Air Fleet as Safety Officer 1. He later joined Aero Contractors Limited as Captain on B737 from 2006 to 2010.

He work with Petrowest Operations Services from 2010 to 2015 as Chief Pilot. In 2015 to 2016. He got an appointment with Federal Ministry of Transportation as Technical Assistant to the Honorable Minister of State Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika. In the same year 2016, he work as Flight Operations Inspector in Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).                                                                      

From 2016 to 2019, he was Representative of Nigeria at International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) council. From 2017 to 2018, he was the Second Vice President ICAO Council. Year 2019, he became Chairperson Implementation, Strategy and Planning Group (ISPG). This group was tasked with the review of Regional Office Reports and other implementation and assistance matters on, inter alia, the International World Aviation Forum (IWAF), the activities of the Global Aviation Training (GAT) office, the ICAO No Country Left Behind (NCLB) initiative and Council Off-site Strategy Meetings (COSMs). 

Capt. Nuhu is a full Professional member of Royal Aeronautical Society (Qualification: Member Royal Aeronautical Society – MRAS), Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (Qualification: Member Institute of Logistics and Transport – MILT), National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (Qualification: Member)

Capt. Musa was appointed on the 24^th October,2019 as the Director General Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and he assumed office on Monday 16^th March,2020. He attended some notable Professional Courses and Training which includes: Sloan School of Business, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Artificial Intelligence Certificate & Internet of Things Certificate), British Standards Institution (BSI – Quality Management System Lead Auditor Course, International Register of Certified Auditors Approved Course), International Air Transport Association (IATA – Advanced Safety Management Systems & Airline Safety and Quality Management Processes), Canadian Helicopter Corporation (CHC – Leadership Course, Change Management Course, Safety Case), Global Air Training (Hijack and Security Management Course), Global Flight Safety Organization (GFSO – Affiliate of Flight Safety Foundation, Aviation Safety Officer’s Course)

He is happily married and blessed with children.
