Capt. Elisha Agio Bahago Director, Operations, Licensing & Training Standards

Capt. Elisha Agio Bahago is the Director of Operations, Licensing and Training Standards.

Born on the 15th of October, 1958, he attended Baptist Primary School, Makera, Kaduna State in 1971 and proceeded to Government Technical College, Kaduna in 1976 for his secondary school.

In 1981, he went to Oklahoma State Tech. Okmulgee, OK, in United State of America (U.S.A) where he had his Associate Degree of Technology in Diesel & Heavy Industrial Equipment Engineering. He later proceeded to Ott Aviation Training School, Miami, Florida U.S.A (Airplane Single &  Multi Engine Land; Private, Commercial Instrument Rating) with an Award of Excellent performance.

He had his Masters of Science (Msc) in Air Safety Management at City University, London in 2007.

From 1984 to 1990, Capt. Bahago joined Nigeria Airways Limited in Lagos State as First Officer on Boeing 737 Fleet. His employment was seconded to Nigerian Presidential Air Fleet, Abuja, from 1990 to 2006 as Line Captain on the G-IV, G-II, HS-125-800.

Capt. Bahago worked with Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority as Flight Operations Safety Inspector from 2007 to 2011. From 2013 to 2015 he was appointed as General Manager, Personnel Licensing Inspectorate. He later moved to Flight Operations Inspector Personnel Licensing from October 2015 to September, 2020.

Sequel to the Executive Order by the Federal Government to restructure the Authority, Capt. Elisha Agio Bahago was confirmed as the new Director of Operations, Licensing and Training Standards (DOLTS) in August, 2020.

Capt. Bahago attended some significant Aviation Safety courses which includes: Basic Flight Operations Safety Inspectors Course at Aviation Authority, Singapore in 2007, Safety Management System at the University of Southern California, U.S.A in 2007, ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Course at Nairobi Kenya in 2008, Human Factor in Aviation at the University of Southern California, USA in 2008, CAA Audit Techniques Course in London UK in 2008, Course 15300051, Airspace Systems Inspection Pilot/Tech (International) FAA Academy, Oklahoma, USA in 2009, Government Sponsor Inspectors (GSI) Course at NCAA Training Centre, Lagos State, Nigeria in 2010, PBN Concepts, Procedure Design and Oversight, Jeppersen Airspace and Airports Services Boeing Center Atlanta GA, USA in 2011, FAA Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Aviation Safety Program Management, Risk Management Trainer; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA in 2012, Safety Oversight Managers Course, Singapore Aviation Academy in 2013.

Capt. Bahago is a full member of Institute of Management Consultant, Nigeria (IMC), Global Flight Safety Organization, Nigeria, Royal Aeronautical Society, UK, International Business Aviation Council, Chattered Institute of Logistic & Transport, UK, All Farmers Association of Nigeria, Uregi Emirate Council, Rafi LGA, Niger State, Nigeria.

Capt. Bahago has license in Airline Transport Pilot (FAA/NCAA ATPL) in 1983/1990, Advance Ground Instructor (FAA AGI) in 2017, Certified Flight Instructor (NCAA CFI) in 2019, Certified ICAO Aviation Training Instructor (TIC I & II) in 2019.

He has flown so many aircraft to his credit which include: Type rating: B737; BE-1900; C560-XLS, DA-7X; G-1159; G-IV; HS 125; EMBER 135/145.  His total flying 9800 Hrs + (PIC 7800 Hrs + SIC – 2000 Hrs)

He is happily married and blessed with children.
