The Aerodrome Safety Standards (ARD SAFETY STDS) Department in the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority is responsible for safety oversight functions with regards to the airport rescue and firefighting Services safety, Aerodrome operations, Bird and wildlife, Ground handling and Terminals in Nigeria. The Department carries out Safety Oversight functions on:
1. Airport Rescue and Firefighting Services Safety.
2. Aerodrome Operations.
3. Bird and Wildlife.
4. Ground handling.
5. Terminals.
The units under the ARD SAFETY STDS department include:
I. Airport Rescue and Firefighting Services Safety Unit.
II. Aerodrome Operations Unit.
III. Bird and Wildlife Unit.
IV. Ground handling Unit.
V. Terminals.
