AERODROME STANDARDS (ARD STDS)

The Aerodrome Standards (ARD STDS) Department in the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority is responsible for safety oversight functions with regards to the development and certification of Aerodromes and Heliports, and   the development and approvals of Airstrips in Nigeria. The Department carries out Safety Oversight functions on:

1. Aerodromes.

2. Heliports.

3. Airstrips.

The units under the ARD STDS department include:

                                I.            Aerodrome development and certification (International).

                              II.            Aerodrome development and certification (Domestic).

                            III.            Heliport development and certification.

                           IV.            Airstrip development and approvals.
