One of the Nigerian registered S76C++ helicopter was involved in a controlled ditching incident and prior to the occurrence the flight crews reported that a passenger reported an unusual burning smell emanating from the cabin during the previous flight.
Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority is the regulatory body for aviation in Nigeria. It became autonomous with the passing into law of the Civil Aviation Act 2006 by the National Assembly and assent of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
