At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, CAO permitted alleviations to the Standards of the Annexes , as interim measures to support continued operations and the NCAA issued several exemptions from certain regulatory requirements. ICAO has requested States to move away from alleviations to compliance with Standards of the annexes and advised that targeted exemptions be granted to specific operator or defined group of individuals.
