NCAA ENTERS NEW YEAR
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has entered the New Year with prayers for safe and secure operations.
This New Year joint prayer assembly of the Authority, which is usually held on the first working day of the year, was held today - Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the Aviation House, Lagos.
Some of the prayer points on which supplications were offered by both Islamic and Christian faithfuls are: Thanking God Almighty for the past one year and the privilege of being alive to see another year; Thank God Almighty for preserving the unity of Nigeria; and Prayer for the continuous growth of the aviation industry.
Others include: Prayer to God Almighty for continued sustenance of the mission and vision of NCAA as well as retention of FAA CAT 1 and other milestones achieved by the Authority; Prayer that God Almighty should comfort families of NCAA staff that we lost in the year 2019; and Prayer for cooperation, love, honesty and unity between Management and staff of NCAA.
In the course of the programme, a moment of silence and prayers were offered for the repose souls of the departed colleagues, including their loved ones left behind.
In his New Year’s goodwill message to staff, the Acting Director General, Capt. Abdullahi Sidi who was represented by Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, Director of Consumer Protection (DCP) expressed gratitude to the entire staff for their co operation and support in the out-gone year.
While tasking staff to exhibit more commitment, he promised that Management will give more priority to staff welfare, implement consequential adjustment arising from minimum wages increase and provide other incentives that will enhance staff productivity.
Speaking on behalf of the four NCAA labour unions, Comrade Sofolahan Ayodele, Chairman of Joint Action Congress thanked colleagues for their steadfastness and trust which resulted in some feats.
The Chairman urged management to provide needed boost towards ensuring much-awaited staff Condition of Service (CoS) see the light of the day by first quarter of year 2020. Other issues enumerated are staff relocation to Abuja, staff Scheme of Service and upwards review of allowances.
In attendance, apart from multitude of staff who took time to exchange pleasantries with one another, are top management staffers. They include Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi (Director, Consumer Protection) and Group Capt. (Rtd.) Edem Oyo-Ita (Director, Air Transport Regulation).
Others are Mr. Sam Adurogboye (GM, Public Relations), Mrs. Modupe Oyerinde (GM, Economic Regulation & Facility, Mrs. Olayinka Babaoye (GM, Air Transport Operations).
The event was put together by the Directorate of Human Resources & Administration (DHR&A) and anchored by the Department of Public Relations.
