The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) clarified that AZMAN AIR resumed full operation on May 1, 2021, following the lifting of earlier suspension.
This is with reference to the news release dated 16th March 2021 on the suspension of Azman Air operations of all Boeing 737 Aircraft in the fleet of Azman Air services Ltd with effect from March 15, 2021.
The airline was earlier suspended on 15th March, 2021 following series of incidents involving Boeing 737 Aircraft in its fleet. This was done pursuant to Section 35 (2) of the Civil Aviation Act, 2006 and Part 1.3.3.3 (A) of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig.CARs) 2015.
It is worthy of note that the Authority through its letter to the airline dated 1st May ,2021 with reference NCAA/DG/AIR/11/16/308 lifted the suspension of part A3 and D43 of the Operation Specifications issued to Azman Air Service with regards to the operations of the B737 aircraft type and have reviewed the corrective action plans developed and implemented by the airline.
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority wishes to reassure the travelling public of its commitment to safe air transport in Nigeria and will continue to ensure strict compliance to safety regulations as violation[s] would be viewed seriously.
