CAPT. NAJOMO RECEIVES SLAMEN EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ON A COURTESY VISIT image

Director-General Civil Aviation (DGCA), Capt. Chris Najomo, on Wednesday, 22nd July, 2026, received Executive Committee (Exco) of the Society of Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers of Nigeria (SLAMEN), led by its President, Engr. Mubarak Haladu, on a courtesy visit to the Authority’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

The visit provides an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the NCAA and the SLAMEN on areas of mutual benefits, including a number of strategic issues that require urgent attention for sustainable growth of the aviation maintenance sub-sector, and the aviation industry in Nigeria at large.

Capt. Najomo urged SLAMEN to continue to support capacity development, knowledge sharing, mentorship, and the promotion of a strong safety culture among maintenance professionals.

A major highlight of the visit was presentation of plaque to the DGCA in recognition of his sterling leadership and contribution to the continued growth and development of the industry since assumption of office.

Apart from the SLAMEN Exco, prominent among those in attendance on the side of the NCAA were Director of Operations, Licensing & Training Standards, Capt. Donald Spiff; General Manager (Air Maintenance Organization Certification & Surveillance), Engr Suleiman Akwuh; Regional Manager, NCAA Abuja Office, Engr. Akinola Bello; and Technical Assistant to the DGCA, Engr. Ini Abasi-Udofia; among others.

SLAMEN is the umbrella professional body representing the interest of Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers in Nigeria.
