The Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Capt. Chris Najomo, has tasked newly-employed Aviation Safety Inspectors and Technical Personnel on professionalism and high ethical standards.
He gave this charge during an inaugural meeting held at the NCAA Annex Conference Hall, Ikeja, Lagos on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
As ambassadors of the Authority, the DGCA cautioned the new officers against unacceptable practices such as withholding Manuals over minor typographical errors, noting that such misconduct would not be tolerated under his watch.
Capt. Najomo outlined the comprehensive training roadmap beginning with the FSG Indoctrination Course and structured On-the-Job Training (OJT), which will qualify them as Principal Operations Inspectors, Cabin Safety Inspectors, Ground Operations Inspectors, and Licensing Inspectors.
While urging the new inspectors to see their recruitment as a rare privilege, Capt. Najomo, however, assured them of improved welfare packages.
Present at the meeting were the Director, Operations, Licensing and Training Standards (DOLTS), Captain Don Spiff, and the Regional Manager, NCAA Lagos Office, Barr. (Mrs) Olubukola Teriba, both of whom commended the DGCA for fostering an enabling work environment, and admonished the new Inspectors and Technical Personnel to approach their duties with the seriousness and integrity the role demands.
