GUIDELINES AND REQUIREMENTS FOR RENEWAL OF TRAVEL AGENCY
A. PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION
(i) Application for renewal of registration as a Travel Agency shall be made in writing to the Director-General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
(ii) The application shall be signed by a person duly authorized by the applicant.
B. REQUIREMENTS
(i) Payment of a non-refundable registration fee to the Authority as stipulated in the NCAA Fees Schedule, upon obtaining a payment slip from the Travel Agency Unit.
(ii) The application must contain the following information:
(a) Name, Head Office and e-mail addresses of applicant;
(b) Types of services to be/being offered;
(c) Number of offices owned by the applicant/company.
(iii) The following supporting documents must be submitted to the Authority before commencing the processing of the application:
(a) Profile of the Directors;
(b) Corporate profile in respect of all aviation related services to be/being performed by the applicant;
(c) Current tax clearance certificate of the company and each of its Directors;
(d) Duly completed application form – NCAA/TA.002 (form obtainable from the Authority);
(e) Certificate obtained in Ticketing & Reservation by two (2) operational staff;
(f) Receipt of payment of the non-refundable fee of Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000) to the Authority; and
(g) Inclusion of a photocopy of the expired certificate.
C. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
(i) Attach a copy of IATA Accreditation (if available)
(ii) Attach a copy of NANTA Certificate
D. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
(i) On receipt of an application, the Director-General may request for additional information from the applicant as may be deemed necessary.
(ii) Any duly registered or accredited agent should be aware that the Authority has the continuing responsibility to be satisfied with the conduct of the registered travel agent. The Authority shall monitor the activities of the travel agent to ensure that its operations are in accordance with set standards and regulations.
(iii) The DG may refuse to register any Agent found to have furnished NCAA with false information or falsified documents. This will further attract applicable sanctions as stipulated in the NCARs.
(iv) Notification to the Authority of any change of name, location, ownership, shareholding in the company is mandatory.
E. VALIDITY OF CERTIFICATE
The validity of the certificate shall be Two (2) years unless otherwise suspended, withdrawn or revoked.

NIGERIAN CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY (NCAA)
Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority is the regulatory body for aviation in Nigeria. It became autonomous with the passing into law of the Civil Aviation Act 2006 by the National Assembly and assent of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Act not only empowers the Authority to regulate Aviation Safety without political interference, but also to carry out oversight functions of Airports, Airspace, Meteorological Services, etc as well as economic regulations of the industry.
